Drew Carey Announces Major Change for “The Price is Right”

Game show host Drew Carey made a major announcement during the filming of the 51st season of “The Price Is Right.”

The long-standing CBS series will no longer be filmed at the iconic Bob Barker Studio in Television City, Hollywood. This shocking news was shared with fans through a video posted on the show’s official Instagram page on June 23.

Expressing his sentiments, Drew Carey remarked, “We’ve been here for 51 years on this historic stage. I used to tell people there was magic in the wood because of all the good vibes that have permeated this studio — all the laughs, all the fun that’s been experienced here.”

The last episode of The Price Is Right to be filmed at the Bob Barker Studio aired on June 26. Drew Carey took over as the show’s host in 2007 following the retirement of the legendary Bob Barker, who retired at the age of 83.

Drew further reflected on the privilege of walking the same stage as icons like Bob Barker and Carol Burnett, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to have such a remarkable job. However, the news of the show’s departure from the classic studio has left some fans feeling both shocked and saddened.

The Price Is Right will now be filmed at Haven Studios, located in Glendale, California. Drew Carey expressed his hope of transferring all the good vibes from the old studio to the new space. He encouraged fans to tune in to the “historic” last episode on the old stage and to embrace the positive energy for the upcoming location.

While some fans expressed excitement about the show’s new studio, others couldn’t help but lament the departure from the iconic Bob Barker Studio, which had been the show’s cherished home for more than five decades. Questions arose about the reasoning behind the move from the classic setting that held so much history.

As the curtain falls on an era, The Price Is Right bids farewell to its long-standing filming location and embarks on a new chapter in Glendale.
