An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with capital murder after allegedly shooting his parents, sister, and brother in Nash, Texas.
On Tuesday, May 23, law enforcement responded to an emergency call reporting a young man inflicting harm on his family and indicating suicidal intentions. The police arrived at the scene to find the suspect, Cesar Olalde, sequestered inside a house.
Nash Police officer Craig Buster’s probable cause affidavit states that Olalde reached out to the police, admitting to shooting his family. After successful negotiations led him to surrender, a search of the residence uncovered the dead bodies of his parents, Reuben Olalde and Aida Garcia, his elder sister, Lisbet Olalde, and younger brother, Oliver Olalde, all in a bathroom.
According to the affidavit, the victims were shot in different areas of the house before being moved to the bathroom. The house was strewn with expended cartridge casings and blood was splattered everywhere.
This horrendous incident came to light when a colleague of Lisbet Olalde, worried about her absence from work, decided to check on her. He was accompanied by a relative and upon entering the house, was threatened by Cesar Olalde brandishing a gun. The co-worker later informed the police that Olalde confessed to killing his family, alleging they were cannibals planning to harm him.
Subsequently, Olalde was brought before the Bowie County court, where his bail was set at $10 million.
Nash is a small town situated near the Arkansas state border, with a population of roughly 3,800.
