According to a May 15 Fox News report, Robert Kennedy Jr., the nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy and son of the late Robert Kennedy, believes he can triumph over Joe Biden in the 2024 Democratic Party primary for the nomination.
Kennedy Jr. claims that public polls show support for him, and he has attracted followers from both Independent and Republican voters.
Although previously not well-known as a political aspirant, Kennedy Jr. is now gaining attention and making headlines by addressing controversial topics that he has raised in the past.
During an interview with John Catsimatidis on the “Cats Roundtable” radio show on WABC 770 AM, Kennedy Jr. argued that substantial evidence points to the CIA’s significant role in the 1963 murder of JFK. He referred to James Douglass’ book, “JFK and the Unspeakable,” as the most complete collection of evidence backing his allegations, and he thinks the CIA’s rejection of any involvement in JFK’s assassination constitutes a 60-year-long cover-up.
In September 1964, the Warren Commission Report concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the fatal shooting of President Kennedy, finding no evidence of a conspiracy.
This isn’t the first time Kennedy Jr. has accused the CIA. Last year, he claimed that the CIA participated in the assassination, asserting that Oswald was a “CIA asset.” He also referred to a segment from Tucker Carlson’s show where the former Fox News host alleged that the CIA executed a successful coup d’état through JFK’s assassination, causing lasting damage to democracy.
Last year, researchers reported finding evidence suggesting Oswald was part of a CIA operation months before the deadly shooting. Jefferson Morley, a JFK assassination research expert affiliated with the Mary Ferrell Foundation, said he and the foundation’s legal team discovered documents indicating the CIA had more information about Oswald than previously acknowledged.
Nevertheless, the CIA vehemently denies any involvement in the assassination, calling the allegations “false.” The agency also noted that many records from the latest release, which came after Kennedy’s shooting, have no relevance to the assassination or the subsequent investigation.
Despite these denials, public opinion polls show that the majority of Americans remain skeptical of the commission’s conclusion that Oswald acted alone as the sole gunman.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 69, a member of the prominent Kennedy dynasty, is an environmental lawyer, activist, and author. He has focused on environmental advocacy, co-founding the Waterkeeper Alliance. Kennedy has also drawn attention for his controversial anti-vaccine stance, expressing skepticism about the safety and efficacy of vaccines and raising concerns about potential links between vaccines and various health issues, such as autism, despite numerous scientific studies debunking these claims.
