Emma Heming Willis, wife of celebrated actor Bruce Willis, 68, recently shared updates on the actor’s health and their family life on social media.
Earlier this year, Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Throughout his health ordeal, he has received an outpouring of support from his family, including his nine-year-old daughter, Evelyn. Emma Heming Willis posted an emotional video on Instagram narrating an episode in which Evelyn researched “facts about dementia” and made a specific list for her father. Even amidst the severity of the situation, Bruce’s wife found joy in the fact that both Bruce and Evelyn have a shared fondness for intriguing facts.
She praised Evelyn’s compassion and proactive steps to comprehend her father’s condition, confirming that they would always keep a water bottle within Bruce’s reach, an action suggested by Evelyn. She considered this as an act of exceptional empathy.
Bruce Willis and Heming Willis are also parents to an 11-year-old daughter, Mabel. Additionally, Willis has three daughters – Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Willis – from his former marriage to Demi Moore. He recently became a grandfather for the first time.
Bruce Willis launched his acting career in 1985 with a part in the TV show Moonlighting. His career skyrocketed in 1988 with the unforgettable role of John McClane in Die Hard. The film series, including two sequels, grossed over $700 million globally. Willis has since been an influential figure in many blockbuster movies, including Pulp Fiction, Mercury Rising, Armageddon, The Expendables, and RED.
In February this year, the public was informed of Willis’ frontotemporal dementia, a condition resulting from an abnormal buildup of proteins in the brain leading to damage and shrinkage of the frontal and temporal lobes. This followed the announcement of his aphasia diagnosis the previous year.
