Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, enjoyed the billionaire’s $500 million purchase, embarking on a voyage aboard his recently acquired super-yacht.
On Monday, the couple was captured on camera relaxing on the ship as they sailed along the coast of Spain. Sanchez, 53, flaunted her toned body in a pink bikini and white cover-up, while the Amazon founder, 59 and in good shape, donned baby blue swim trunks and a cream zip-up jacket. Although there were plenty of seating options, they sunbathed side by side, soaking up the sun.
The massive ship, called Koru, is the tallest sailing yacht ever made, standing at 230 feet tall. While it has a guest capacity of 18, Bezos and Sanchez opted to sail it alone before inviting some of their celebrity friends on board. It features a helipad and a pool.
Construction of the boat began in 2018, costing Bezos half a billion dollars, and was completed in March 2023. Running costs amount to about $25 million annually, but that is a small price for Bezos, whose net worth was recently estimated at over $130 billion.
Bezos also owns numerous properties and a fleet of private planes and helicopters. In 2020, he purchased a 10-acre property in Beverly Hills for $165 million, where he plans to construct a 29,000-square-foot mega-mansion. However, due to Amazon’s stock price dip, Bezos’ net worth plummeted by $57 billion, causing construction on the mansion to stall.
Before his relationship with Sanchez, Bezos was married to MacKenzie Scott for 25 years, and the two share four children. Sanchez was married to Patrick Whitesell for 13 years before they finalized their divorce in October 2019. Despite the financial setback, the couple appears to be living a lavish lifestyle and are still reportedly very much in love.
