Ivanka Trump Distances Herself from Her Dad and Brothers in NY Attorney General $250 Million Fraud Lawsuit

Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former President Donald Trump, is trying to disassociate herself from a $250 million fraud lawsuit filed against the Trump Organization, in which she and her two brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are named as defendants.

Reid Figel, Ivanka Trump’s attorney, wrote to the New York Supreme Court on Monday to ask that his client be treated differently than her father, brothers, and the Trump Organization because she stopped working with the family business in 2017.

When discussing the lawsuit, which was filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James in September of last year, Attorney Figel stated that there was no allegation that Ivanka had anything to do with her father’s financial statements.

The letter emphasized how Ivanka’s legal and factual arguments differ from those of the other family members involved.

According to the civil fraud suit, the Trump Organization inflates its property values in order to persuade banks to lend the company more money. Donald Trump and his three children are named as defendants in the lawsuit. The four defendants are also being sued for disqualification from serving as officers or directors of any company in the state of New York.

The trial before Judge Arthur Engoron will begin on October 2.

According to a number of experts, Ivanka’s claim that she was not involved in the preparation, review, or certification of any fraudulent financial records could be interpreted to mean that her father and brothers were involved.

Attorney General James implied during her lawsuit announcement that Trump’s children were accomplices in their father’s fraud and had consistently filed fraudulent tax returns.

Donald Trump has denied the allegations and accused AG James of conducting a “witch hunt” against him, but James has maintained her allegations.

Since the announcement of the lawsuit in September, Ivanka Trump has taken a different path than her brothers. She has refrained from bad-mouthing the Attorney General on social media and from making other public statements about the case. People believe that by remaining silent, she is attempting to distance herself from her father and his legal problems.

Ivanka announced her departure from politics shortly after her dad declared his candidacy for president in 2024.
