Green Goblin Gang Attack Late Night Subway Riders

These NYC muggers have been dubbed the “Green Goblin Gang” because they all wear neon lime green jumpsuits and accompanying hooded masks. Some might think this is funny or cute, but this gang means business.

Four gang members tied to a recent subway attack at the Time Squares station have been identified by police, who say that they have not been able to identify four other members who took part in the incident.

The group is accused of assaulting two 19-year-old women on the Times Square Subway platform and a subway train.  The victims told police they were in NYC celebrating their birthday when the lime green gang confronted them. The team viciously assaulted the two women, who then robbed the victims of their bags and cell phone.

One of the victim’s mothers told The New York Post that her daughter “was attacked by aliens, and I didn’t know what she was talking about,” the mother of one of the victims, who chose to remain anonymous, told The Post on Monday. “Yesterday was her birthday. This is how she spent her 19th birthday. I hope they get what they deserve and then some because it’s disgusting.” The mom added that her daughter had at least five attackers on her at once and that both victims had been punched in the face.

“All these men sitting there taking videos and watching, and none of them helped while a group of … women were beating two young girls,” the mother said of the other passengers.

In town to visit family, one of the victims was supposed to return to school last week but is still recovering from the incident. “When she breathes, it hurts,” said her mom.  “In one of the surveillance videos, you can see the one girl kicked her and got her foot caught in my daughter’s purse strap. My daughter is tiny. She’s 5 foot 4. That one beast,” she added.
Police have identified Emily Soto, 34, Alston Ciante, 26, Miriam Issouf, 26, and Dariana Peguero, 26,  all hailing from New York City Housing Authority’s Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City, as members of the gang who attacked the two victims. Soto, Ciante, and Issouf have all given themselves and made appearances at police headquarters.  Peguero remains at large. NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig says these suspects have at least 15 prior arrests. Peguero is the most frequent offender, with at least nine prior.
