Fugitive Arrested After Applying for Job in Sheriff’s Office

A fugitive who had dodged the law is under arrest after applying for a job with a sheriff’s office. Zyeama Y. Johnson, 27, a former postal worker from Jersey City, NJ, helped law officials arrest a fugitive who had previously evaded law enforcement……. Getting herself arrested after submitting a job application to be a security guard working for the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.

Johnson was wanted in Pennsylvania for fraud charges, and in Jersey City, she had accumulated ten bench warrants for outstanding traffic violations. She recently applied for the position without knowing that the very department she was applying to was responsible for handling fugitive cases. 

The department contacted her to come in for an interview. Johnson showed up for the scheduled interview and was arrested by police rather than considered for the job. 

Adding injury to insult is the fact that police discovered two stolen credit cards in her possession while searching the fugitive. Police added the charge of credit card theft to the existing charges.
