A shocking discovery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has prompted a homicide investigation.
Reid Christopher Johnson, a 51-year-old Burnsville man, was found dead, and his body was concealed in a garbage can.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s report confirmed that Johnson’s death resulted from multiple gunshot wounds.
His body was discovered on Sunday afternoon, January 7, 2024, concealed in the garbage of an unoccupied house on the 700 block of 30th Avenue North.
According to reports, real estate agent Josh Fredrickson, tasked with preparing the home for an open house, encountered an unattended car in the garage on Saturday.
He contacted the MPD about the vehicle but was told that the car wouldn’t be towed until Sunday.
The broker returned the following morning for another open house, this time with the homeowner, who decided to put a new padlock on the garage door after learning about the car.
He noticed something different in the garage on Sunday: the car had vanished, replaced by a sizable garbage bin in the garage. The real estate agent, alongside the homeowner, decided to inspect the bin.
This led to the discovery of Johnson’s body, initially hidden and wrapped in a blue tarp. In a statement, the homeowner recalled that moment as one of utter shock and disbelief.
The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), initiated a detailed investigation. Forensic scientists were dispatched to process the crime scene and collect evidence.
Concurrently, homicide detectives have embarked on an extensive investigation. As of the most recent updates, the case remains open, with no arrests made.
